Deming Mountain Loop | Eagles Nest Wilderness
October 2020
On a sunny and warm October day, there's no better place to be than the mountains. The journey began at North Tenmile Creek Trailhead, winding up the valley. Upon reaching the Gore Range Trail junction, I turned westward onto an old, unmaintained trail leading into the Upper Basin. Eventually, I arrived at Seldom Pass, nestled at the foot of Deming Mountain. As I descended into the Gore Creek Basin, I explored numerous smaller unnamed lakes, wetlands, and peaks. Venturing far from the trails, I unexpectedly encountered a bear family. We exchanged friendly glances before parting ways. Crossing over Red Buffalo Pass, the Gore Range Trail guides you southward, back to the North Tenmile Creek Trail.
